How to send an
Email To Fax Document
The process of sending an online email to fax isn't tough.
It actually doesn't even require any additional software to be
installed on your computer. All you need is: An email account
(could be a Gmail, or Hotmail free account).
Most providers such as MyFax
or eFax set you up with either a toll-free number or a local
fax number depending on if ones available in your area of not.
I prefer the toll-free number as it works best for my
clients/customers so their not charged any long distance fees
when sending me documents.
To Send a Fax (using MyFax as an
example):
- Open up your email client, or login to your free email
account online. You'll specify which email account you'll
be using when you sign up for the service.
- The email address that the email should be addressed to
is the fax number you want to send a fax to @myfax.com. So
if you wanted to send a fax to 1-999-888-7777 you'd address
the email to 19998887777@myfax.com.
- Enter the subject and body for the email, this will
become the cover page for you fax. If you're just sending a
quick note this may be all you need to send the fax.
- Attach any additional documents you want sent with the
fax. This could be Microsoft Office files, PDF's etc. These
will be converted when the fax is sent. Not all document
types are supported, but the majority of office and
productivity applications are.
- Hit send, you fax will be sent. If it doesn't go
through right away the service will retry automatically.
After being sent you'll receive a confirmation for your
records.
